Mold and air quality testing.
Three air samples were taken to test for mold in the first level, basement and outside. The first level and basement level were overall good with no significant elevated readings, only slightly in a couple of categories which is not uncommon as we bring mold in to our homes every tie we open doors. It was recommended to monitor the water leakage in the basement area and remove any water damaged drywall and other possible contaminated areas such as the carpet.
An air quality test was performed using the Air Advice which checks 6 categories in the air. The chemical level was very high. This can relate to VOC's such as cleaning products, air fresheners etc. or possibly the HVAC system. The HVAC system may not be bringing enough fresh air in to the home through air exchanges which could also be causing the Carbon Dioxide level to be high as well. It was recommended to contact a HVAC company to inspect the system. The EPA recommends increasing ventilation within our homes and an EZ Breathe ventilation system was discussed as a product that conducts whole home air exchanges.
