Professional Mold Inspection and Testing

Moisture allows mold to develop in places that are difficult to see, such as behind walls, beneath flooring, and inside basements. A professional mold inspection helps uncover conditions that may encourage mold growth. We examine your property for visible mold and moisture concerns and use air sampling and laboratory analysis when additional information is needed.

Our mold testing process includes a detailed interior inspection, moisture and humidity evaluations, and assessment of conditions related to mold. We also conduct air sampling and laboratory testing when needed.

Indoor Air Quality Testing in Mehlville

Technician testing indoor air quality using advanced equipment

Indoor air may contain various pollutants that are difficult to detect without professional testing. Chemicals, airborne particles, excess moisture, and mold affects the air inside your home. Our indoor air quality testing uses advanced monitoring equipment to help identify potential pollutants and other concerns. Testing helps detect:

  • Airborne chemical contaminants
  • Potentially hazardous air pollutants
  • Possible sources of indoor chemicals
  • Unusual indoor odors
  • Humidity-related air quality concerns
  • Ventilation and air circulation concerns

Better Air Quality through Moisture Control

Proper humidity control and ventilation play an important role in maintaining healthier indoor air. Excess moisture can contribute to mold growth, musty odors, and other indoor air quality concerns, while poor ventilation may allow pollutants to build up inside your home.

Based on the findings in your indoor air quality testing report, we may recommend dehumidification, and ventilation, or other measures to address identified concerns. These solutions help reduce excess moisture, improve air circulation, and support better overall indoor air quality.

A visual inspection was performed in the basement. Three air samples were taken one in the first level of the home, one in the basement and one outside for reference. The first level showed slightly elevated and acceptable levels. The basement showed slightly elevated in multiple categories and elevated in one identification. Recommended working with a remediation contractor on ways of reducing the count in the basement of the home to more acceptable levels.

Three air samples were taken to test for mold in the first level, basement and outside. The first level and basement level were overall good with no significant elevated readings, only slightly in a couple of categories which is not uncommon as we bring mold in to our homes every tie we open doors. It was recommended to monitor the water leakage in the basement area and remove any water damaged drywall and other possible contaminated areas such as the carpet.

An air quality test was performed using the Air Advice which checks 6 categories in the air. The chemical level was very high. This can relate to VOC's such as cleaning products, air fresheners etc. or possibly the HVAC system. The HVAC system may not be bringing enough fresh air in to the home through air exchanges which could also be causing the Carbon Dioxide level to be high as well. It was recommended to contact a HVAC company to inspect the system. The EPA recommends increasing ventilation within our homes and an EZ Breathe ventilation system was discussed as a product that conducts whole home air exchanges.
