Professional Mold Testing Services in Jennings Homes
Mold thrives in damp, hidden areas like behind walls, basements, crawl spaces, or inside HVAC systems. Left unchecked, mold releases spores into the air, which potentially cause health issues. Our multi-layered mold testing approach includes:
Air Tests: Detects invisible airborne mold spores affecting respiratory health.
Surface Swab Testing: Identifies mold types on walls, wood, or tile.
Tape Lifts: Collects samples from visible growth for lab analysis.
Reports & Analysis: Lab-certified results with expert remediation guidance.
Don’t Rely Solely on Your Senses or DIY Kits
DIY tests or just relying your senses will not uncover the hidden mold at your home or office. That is why professional mold testing is essential to maintain a healthy home or office in Jennings and its surrounding communities in the Greater St. Louis area.
Mold often grows in walls, under carpets, or in your home’s air system. DIY kits can give inaccurate or confusing results. They might cause you to panic or ignore real problems. Professional mold testing is the best way to be sure. Our certified professional tests are thorough and lab-analyzed. We provide clear answers about mold in your home and how to fix it safely.
Comprehensive Mold Inspections for Your Home
A mold inspection is a thorough process to check for mold in your home, even in hidden places. Unlike mold testing, which measures spore levels, an inspection identifies sources of moisture and visible or hidden growth. At Midwest Healthy Home Solutions, we inspect interior and exterior areas, map moisture levels, and collect air and surface samples to confirm mold presence. Our team provides a clear report and expert recommendations for complete mold control. We collect 3–5 samples to ensure accuracy and thorough results.

What's the difference between mold testing and mold inspection?
Mold testing measures spore levels in the air or on surfaces. A mold inspection finds the source of moisture and identifies visible or hidden mold growth.
What's the best way to deal with high humidity in my basement or crawl space?
Often, a combination of effective waterproofing measures and the installation of a high-performance dehumidifier, like an AprilAire system. It provides the most comprehensive solution for managing humidity.
Do I need both a dehumidifier and waterproofing for my basement?
Yes—dehumidifiers control humidity while waterproofing stops water entry. Combining them provides long-lasting protection for your home’s structure and air quality.
A visual inspection was performed in the basement. Three air samples were taken one in the first level of the home, one in the basement and one outside for reference. The first level showed slightly elevated and acceptable levels. The basement showed slightly elevated in multiple categories and elevated in one identification. Recommended working with a remediation contractor on ways of reducing the count in the basement of the home to more acceptable levels.
Three air samples were taken to test for mold in the first level, basement and outside. The first level and basement level were overall good with no significant elevated readings, only slightly in a couple of categories which is not uncommon as we bring mold in to our homes every tie we open doors. It was recommended to monitor the water leakage in the basement area and remove any water damaged drywall and other possible contaminated areas such as the carpet.
An air quality test was performed using the Air Advice which checks 6 categories in the air. The chemical level was very high. This can relate to VOC's such as cleaning products, air fresheners etc. or possibly the HVAC system. The HVAC system may not be bringing enough fresh air in to the home through air exchanges which could also be causing the Carbon Dioxide level to be high as well. It was recommended to contact a HVAC company to inspect the system. The EPA recommends increasing ventilation within our homes and an EZ Breathe ventilation system was discussed as a product that conducts whole home air exchanges.
Upon visual inspection, it was recommended to remove water damaged materials and to install a waterproofing system to keep water from entering the basement.
A visual inspection was made in the basement of the home. Two tape samples were taken to test for mold resulting in confirmation of mold growth on the drywall in the basement. It was recommended to contact a remediation contractor to professionally remove all affected materials form the basement and remediate.
