Professional Mold Assessment and Testing

Mold can develop in damp areas such as basements, crawl spaces, bathrooms, and other parts of your home. If you notice a musty odor or suspect hidden mold, contact Midwest Healthy Home Solutions for mold testing to get valuable information about your indoor environment.

We use air sampling, laboratory analysis, and other testing methods to identify potential mold concerns. We evaluate moisture levels, indoor air quality, and conditions that may contribute to mold growth.

Mold Inspection before Testing

Inspector checking mold damp wall

A detailed mold inspection is performed before testing to assess your home for signs of moisture and possible mold growth. We conduct a thorough visual inspection using specialized equipment to identify water intrusion, excess humidity, and other conditions that may support mold growth. The inspection findings help determine whether mold testing is needed and where testing may be appropriate. A mold inspection is helpful if you notice:

  • Musty odors
  • Water stains or discoloration
  • Previous leaks or water damage
  • Moisture in a basement or crawl space
  • Concerns about hidden mold
  • Changes in indoor air quality

Comprehensive Indoor Air Quality Testing in Manchester

Indoor air can contain mold spores, chemical pollutants, allergens, and other contaminants. Our indoor air quality testing helps identify potential concerns inside your home. Midwest Healthy Home Solutions uses advanced monitoring equipment to evaluate indoor air conditions and identify potential sources of concern.

We use the testing results to better understand your home's air quality and recommend solutions based on the conditions we find. This approach focuses on identifying and addressing potential sources of indoor air concerns rather than simply treating the symptoms.

EZ Breathe Ventilation for Better Air Quality

Air ventilation system airflow

Good ventilation moves stale indoor air out and brings fresh air into your home. The EZ Breathe Ventilation System is designed to improve air circulation and control moisture. It is especially useful in homes with concerns related to humidity, stale air, or poor ventilation.

Midwest Healthy Home Solutions helps determine whether an EZ Breathe system is a good fit for your home. This system supports whole-home air exchange and works as part of a larger indoor air quality plan.

Whole-Home Dehumidification Services

Humidity control supports better indoor air quality. High humidity creates conditions for mold growth and makes a basement or crawl space feel damp. Our dehumidification service helps control excess moisture in these areas.

Midwest Healthy Home Solutions provides whole-home dehumidification as well as area-specific solutions. We cover basements, crawl spaces, and other spaces where humidity can be a concern. We evaluate the moisture conditions and recommend a system based on the space and your needs.

Protect Your Basement From Water Damage

Finished basement interior

Water that enters a basement or crawl space creates ongoing moisture problems. Basement waterproofing helps control groundwater and other sources of unwanted moisture. Midwest Healthy Home Solutions provides moisture-control solutions for basements and crawl spaces to help keep these areas drier. Our waterproofing services address:

  • Basement leaks
  • Crawl space leaks
  • Groundwater intrusion
  • Damp or musty spaces
  • Moisture that contributes to high humidity

Frequently Asked Questions

Can high humidity cause mold growth?
High humidity creates conditions that can support mold growth. Controlling moisture is an important part of preventing mold problems. Dehumidification, proper ventilation, and waterproofing helps manage different sources of excess moisture.
Is mold testing worth it if I cannot see mold?
Yes. Mold can grow behind walls, under floors, and in other hidden areas. Professional mold testing identifies airborne or surface mold and provide information that may not be available through a visual inspection alone.
What does an EZ Breathe ventilation system do?
An EZ Breathe ventilation system helps remove stale, humid air from your home while bringing in fresher air. It improves circulation and help manage humidity, especially in basements, crawl spaces, and other lower areas.

A visual inspection was performed in the basement. Three air samples were taken one in the first level of the home, one in the basement and one outside for reference. The first level showed slightly elevated and acceptable levels. The basement showed slightly elevated in multiple categories and elevated in one identification. Recommended working with a remediation contractor on ways of reducing the count in the basement of the home to more acceptable levels.

Three air samples were taken to test for mold in the first level, basement and outside. The first level and basement level were overall good with no significant elevated readings, only slightly in a couple of categories which is not uncommon as we bring mold in to our homes every tie we open doors. It was recommended to monitor the water leakage in the basement area and remove any water damaged drywall and other possible contaminated areas such as the carpet.

An air quality test was performed using the Air Advice which checks 6 categories in the air. The chemical level was very high. This can relate to VOC's such as cleaning products, air fresheners etc. or possibly the HVAC system. The HVAC system may not be bringing enough fresh air in to the home through air exchanges which could also be causing the Carbon Dioxide level to be high as well. It was recommended to contact a HVAC company to inspect the system. The EPA recommends increasing ventilation within our homes and an EZ Breathe ventilation system was discussed as a product that conducts whole home air exchanges.
